Empower Enterprise Storage Management System
SANOS is QSAN’s proprietary SAN storage management operating system. It is equipped with a refreshingly simple to use web GUI and is easily deployable into any infrastructure. SANOS delivers comprehensive storage functionality and brings enterprise-level features to the SMB and Enterprise businesses with high performance, high availability, and unparalleled scalability.
In every generation of firmware, SANOS continues to evolve and advance on the enterprise features, user-friendly interface design, and performance improvement. In this latest firmware version 1.4.0, we introduce SANOS with
Volume Quality of Service
Deliver Service Workload Consolidation
If different applications share the same storage platform, we can predict that workloads with I/O may conflict. For multi-tenant applications, QSAN QoS (Quality of Service) feature always ensures that your business-critical workload go smoothly with consistent performance. Through the traffic policies and throughput management assures a better service consolidation.
QoS is a term used in the field of packet switched networks to refer to the probability that a network will satisfy a given business contract. QoS has a control mechanism that provides different priorities to ensure that the performance of the data stream reaches a certain level according to the requirements of the application. QoS features exist in everything from network devices to hypervisors to storage. When multiple workloads share limited resources, QoS helps control how resources are shared and prevents the noisy applications from damaging the performance of all other applications on the same system.
Advanced Disk Awareness
When disk drives are running for a while, some disk drives may age and affect overall performance. If more unfortunate, they will cause no response and make the system get stuck. SANOS provides advanced disk awareness to predict the abnormal disk drive with high latency. This mechanism becomes more sensitive without performance impact. Alert IT administrators in advance to avoid affecting overall performance.
More Stripe Size Options
Considering better performance in some environments, SANOS enhances several stripe size options. The original setting is 64KB only, now we have several options from 64KB to 1,024KB for chosen. With our experience, larger stripe size is suitable for the following applications.
Depending on your application,
choosing the right stripe size will improve stable I/O performance.
Stripe Size | 64K | 128K | 256K | 512K | 1024K |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Simultaneous Writes without Frame Loss* | 30 | 46 | 49 | 44 | 43 |
* Benchmarked with XS5224, 16GB memory, 16 x NL-SAS HDD, NetTest utility for each write 100MB/s.
RESTful API Support
QSAN meets the trend of the times and supports the RESTful API (Application Programming Interface) which is becoming the most popular API design specification. With RESTful API, you can design your management utilities more scalability, simplicity, portability, and make applications distributed and independent across the Internet.
